A special place in the northeast of Friesland

Our lofts are situated on a mound at the edge of the quiet Frisian village of Hantum, with a wide view over the fields, the mill and the Stupa. Dokkum is just around the corner. The Lauwersmeer National Park is nearby, and the Wadden Sea with the ferries to Ameland and Schiermonnikoog is just a few minutes away.

We are Joan & Marian

Since July 2021 we have lived here, and from the very first moment we felt at home in this green, quiet Frisian village. That warmth is what we want to pass on to everyone who stays with us.

Marian worked for many years in home care. Care, a listening ear and genuine attention for people, that is part of her character. And that is what she brings to Thús yn Hantum.

Life is full of beautiful moments, you just have to dare to embrace them. Sometimes you come to the realisation that you need to make the most of it and dare to take a step. That is exactly what we did. The step to welcome guests, and to give everyone who arrives the feeling: here I am at home.
